Oscar Cup Name History




Oscar statue-shaped gold knight who was standing above the roll of film, is the trophy which was won by the movie stars in the annual academy awards. but why the statue was on call Oscar cup ? it does not actually have a name until 1931.



In 1931 Oscar Pierce, a wealthy farmer
in Texas, unexpectedly: "featured". His niece was a librarian at the library "Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts, and Sciences. One day he casually mentions that the knight statue was similar to his uncle, named Oscar.
